Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

If I had to pick an all time hero in the textile design world it would be Tsumori Chisato. I have admired her for years and have a small collection of pieces which I treasure. I love her designs for their edgy, quirkiness that is playful and over the top. She bends the rules of pattern design according to her whims which lends a very personal feel to her work.

Fashionably-speaking, Chisato’s style isn’t for everyone which is why I am so excited about her upcoming collaboration with makeup master Shu Uemura. The inspiration for the collection came from the St. Exupery classic Le Petit Prince which is one of my all time favorite stories.

The products–like rhinestone embellished false eyelashes and make up compacts with Chisato’s illustrations–are perfectly in line with her fashion style but easier to incorporate into your everyday look. All of this combined with Uemura’s expertise and brilliant product make this the best collaboration of great minds ever to happen. Perhaps you can tell I am a little partial on this one, right?
