Either/Or

Now that we’re into July, I’ve started thinking about Fall transition shopping.

I want to buy pieces that I can wear now and keep wearing into September and October when temperatures start to cool off  (hallelujah!) and the Fall starts to settle in again.

One piece I am most coveting right now is the safari dress. I think it looks so cool and effortless without trying to be. I keep seeing good options everywhere and am having a hard time narrowing down which one I want.

Here are two picks, the silk army green is from my tried and true favorite J.Crew while the trendier khaki military-inspired is from UK line ASOS.

Which is your favorite? J.Crew silk fatigue (on sale now ps) or the one with all the bells and whistles (from Whistles via ASOS).

ooo, I like them both. I’d probably go with the J-Crew one though as I like the sleeves on that one better than the sleeveless ASOS one. CANNOT wait for fall!!

  2. Simone:

I’d go for the J. Crew as well if you are wanting to pair it will fall pieces I think the green would go awesome with burgundy or navy blue chunky sweaters and tights and boots…heh heh. I love clothes!

hmm… I like the silk cargo dress from JCrew! and agree with Simone that it would look great with a chunky sweater and boots… in fact this might be a perfect piece for fall in San Francisco, since our weather is actually warmer that time of year.

I like the one on the left, the J. Crew one. The other one seems a bit matronly.
I don’t like the length of the bottom part on the ASOS one.

    Cheers,
    Yasmeen

staying true to my blogging moniker, i gotta go with the j.crew. i mean, it IS on sale and in the perfect khaki green too …

  6. Elena:

    J. Crew for sure! I like the shorter length and it might be a bit more difficult to wear a sweater or jacket over the ASOS dress with the broad shoulders.

  7. laura:

the j crew! the sleeves make it a bit more versatile and the length is less dowdy

Go w/ the J. Crew. It has a more classic look and can be more easily mixed w/ fashion trends in the future. It’s a better color too.
