Tastes Good: Momofuku Milk Bar

For someone who takes dessert as seriously as I do, it usually comes as a shock to people that I have never been to the Momofuku Milk Bar.

In honor of my birthday this weekend, Andy and I made our very first trip.

Now, I am all for any dessert that looks like it wants to take me down; and the cakes at Momofuku do just that. Intimidating in both stature and girth, each cake is crammed with layers of deliciousness like passion fruit curd, charred marshmallows & coffee buttercream…you get the idea.

I’m not sure exactly what was going through my mind when I ordered a slice of cake as well as a half-dozen of their saucer-sized cookies. It was an indulgence of mass proportions that I do not regret (even as the effects of the sugar start to slowly wear off).
