Object Outfit + Black Eiffel

If you’ve been reading this blog for a little while, you’ve probably discovered that I am totally and completely obsessed with stripes.

It has been a life long love affair, from pinstripes to jailbird stripes, I love them all–but none more than the classic sailor stripe. In crisp blue and white it will always be my number one.

And as luck would have it stripes are a big trend on the horizon for Spring, oh happy day!

You can imagine my surprise and delight when I stumbled upon this fabulous image on Black*Eiffel, one of my new favorite lifestyle blogs. I love the clean-lined sophistication of this kitchen and the way the light fixtures give a subtle nod to the nautical without going overboard (har har).

Knowing me, of course I took the sailor vibe and ran with it. Here is my modern nautical look inspired by the room below.

I love the blocked stripe on the Mike & Chris top and the perfect lines of the Acne silk trouser. I am also a huge fan of women carrying men’s briefcases and used this classic Coach attaché to add to the sophisticated androgyny in the outfit. It is a look for a modern day Katherine Hepburn or Annie Hall.

Check out the rest of the home on Black*Eiffel right here.

Have a great weekend everybody!
