Tastes Good: Frankies 457 Sputino

Welcome back everyone. I hope the weekend was a good one!

Mine certainly was because, among other things, we went to dinner at one of my favorite Brooklyn restaurants Frankies 457.

I’ve made it a goal of mine to start featuring a weekly food post on Monday mornings. I am quite an eater and enjoy drawing food almost as much as I like making/eating it.

If you live in Brooklyn, you’ve definitely heard of/been to Frankies. It has a stellar reputation and a very inviting facade if you are walking by on a cold winter evening.

I don’t make a lot of pasta when I cook because it can feel a little boring to me. At Frankies though, a bowl of the restaurants’ homemade pasta is a transformative experience.

The caterpillary cavatelli sauteed with sausage from NYC institution Faccio’s Pork Store is one of the standbys on the menu.

A plate of pasta at Frankies is sexier somehow than anywhere else. The restaurant’s ambience, wine and wonderfully friendly staff come together to make every bite just a little more memorable and quite seductive in the way only Italian food can be when it is perfectly prepared.

(I secretly hope Andy takes me there for Valentine’s Day.)

I’m a little envious that your food drawings are just as enticing as your fashion ones . . . can’t wait to see more!
