Room/Outfit + Stellan Herner and Style Files

Friday already!? Where did this week go? Not like I am complaining, I’ve been feeling a little under the weather so this weekend I am going to curl up, get cozy and relax.

Speaking of cozy, that is the name of the game for today’s Room/Outfit post.

I discovered this home on The Style Files, another favorite blog of mine. Every room in this Swedish home is so fantastic, it was difficult to pick just one to work with.

I love the minimal color palette and the warmth that is created through the layering of organic textures and fibers. I can imagine myself settling into that couch in with a mug of tea and a magazine on a winter evening, sigh.

For my outfit inspired by the room I kept to the ivory/grey color palette and looked for pieces with contrasting natural textures.

The marled yarn of the sweater adds substance to the soft chiffon of the dress and suede booties are paired with sweater tights laced with lurex for a bit of sparkle. Wearing nubby sweaters over chiffon dresses is definitely a new favorite look of mine. It is a novel way to turn summery chiffon into a winter-ready look.
