As I’ve told you before, I love the Ace Hotel, I would live there if I could.

Having stayed at their outposts in both Seattle and Portland, I am so excited that now we New Yorkers have an Ace of our very own!

The best part about the Ace is their aesthetic. Pared-down rooms combine basic necessities with a few expertly chosen details like bespoke blankets and bathrobes. The large-format artwork painted on the walls give each room its own character.

The feel is laid-back, casual and always very very cool. The aura of the Pacific Northwest pervades the atmosphere ever so slightly which is a welcome reminder of my years spent living in Seattle.

This room is one of the best the Ace New York has to offer. It’s loft-style floor plan features a dining and sitting area all decorated in graphic black and white and perfectly polished wood.

Here is my look inspired by the Ace New York: I took a couple of cues from the grunge era (like the plaid dress paired with menswear elements) and fixed things up with a modern spin.
