Fall Prints

You might have noticed that I am feeling really inspired about Fall.

I am looking forward to the crisp air, the beautiful colors and wrapping myself in heavy, nubby fabrics. I’ve already started stocking up on cardigans and wooly thigh-high socks!

Since I am a textile designer, I’ve channeled my autumnal energy into creating some new, original prints for the season. There is a wobbly, hand-painted herringbone, an inkblot ocelot and, a flourishing swirl inspired by the beautiful calligraphy I have been looking at for wedding inspiration!

I know what kind of prints I want to be wearing when the weather starts to turn. I hope you like them too!

The Bucket List

I’ve currently got the hots for Alexander Wang‘s Diego Bucket Bag. You’ve got to admit, the man makes a mean handbag.

It’s a perfectly-shaped satchel. Great for toting everything you need in one convenient, easy-access compartment–and really, what’s more important to a girl on the go?

I noticed that I am not alone in my crush on this style, there are tons of buckets out there so you can pick your favorite! (mongolian lamb, anyone?).

LGTM ♥ Weddings!

Wedding, what wedding?

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I’ve barely been thinking about the wedding lately with our big move coming up and also, because everything so far has been running so smoothly  it is almost too good to be true.

Today I created a little inspiration board for you of some of our favorite floral references for the wedding.

These images help describe the rustic feel and the muted Fall color palette we are going for. I think they also help illustrate that wild, unfussy element we really want to capture.

Don’t you just love all of the branches and vines and giant floral hair wreaths?? I know I do!

Hot Wheels

Well, today is the day, today is new bike day!

I’ve been riding secondhand cruisers for years until recently Andy started lapping me on our rides around Prospect Park…clearly time for an upgrade.

Here it is, the Roadster Classic from Linus Bikes. I love the clean simple lines (and adorable accessories). I took it for a test spin last weekend and it rides like a dream. Today I am making the total commitment! Look out for me riding by this weekend!

A Little Birdie Told Me

I am pleased to announce that LGTM has moved into the modern world and now has a Twitter Feed!

I resisted Twitter for so long and now that I relented I can’t understand why I was so slow on the uptake.

Well hello kitty! I know I am a little behind the curve on this one but how could I resist? These cat-shaped lipsticks from Paul & Joe Beauté are so damn cheeky and cute, I’d love to have one peeking out of my makeup bag.

It seems to be unanimous, from MiuMiu’s cat-printed collection, to Grace Coddington’s Catwalk Cats, to the United Bamboo Cat Calendar to The Catorialist and now Paul & Joe too, it’s clearly cool to be a cat these days.

Either/Or

Today felt like Fall in NYC well, almost.

My bare legs were actually chilly walking to the subway after work and with fashion already on the brain, it really got me thinking about the trends ahead for Fall.

I had a laugh thinking about how Spring’s itty bitty hot pants look has given way to it’s polar opposite–and one of Fall’s biggest trends–the super long maxi skirt.

Ironically, both looks are insanely hard to wear if you stand any shorter that 6′ tall. Hmm.

I wondered what the rest of you think of these two trends. Would you be more inclined toward showing a little (ok, a lot) of leg or letting it all hang down to the floor?

Me, I don’t usually strut around pantsless but if I had to choose, I’ll admit there is something slightly more appealing about keeping it short and sweet rather than leaving everything to the imagination. I mean flaunt’em while you still got’em, right?

I guess what I really want to know is this: Either or Neither?

Forget Your Troubles C’mon Get Happy

When I got home tonight I was in need of a major pick me up. Thank goodness for beer and pompoms! (And Andy, the man is a moving powerhouse. I don’t know where I’d be without him.)

There is nothing more fun or feminine than a pompom. The Ban.do hairpieces always put a smile on my face. Especially this flirty frilly pouf from their Black Label, it’s a showstopper.

Now, pair it with some of these lovely made-to order crepe paper numbers from Etsy and we’re totally ready to throw a party. I’m game if you are!

LGTM ♥ Weddings!

I know I am not the first bride (nor will I be the last) to envision white lanterns at her wedding. They are just so pretty and elegant, especially in giant bunches!!

We’ve spent the whole weekend packing up for the big move to the new apartment and so my mind has been more on home decorating than wedding planning.

I keep imagining a cloud of white lanterns like this suspended above our bed. Wouldn’t that be the most magical sight to wake up to?
