Gimmie!

I was so excited to contribute one of my must-have picks for Fall over on Pretty Mommy this week while Michelle is on vacation!

Michelle and I have collaborated in the past and she’s got a great eye for style. Of course I wasn’t surprised when I sent over these gorgeous Loeffler Randall booties (that I was drooling over) and she said she had been eyeing them too!

Imagining these on my feet, I rounded out the look with some great accessories from Michelle’s shop. I’d buy it all if I could (but I can’t). Gimmie gimmie gimmie gimmie!

Clockwise from top left: Loeffler Randall Mesh Lace Up Bootie (via Saks); Nomadic Trading Co Indigo Shawl; Fleabags Original Flea in Black; Laura Lombardi 24K Gold Dipped Crystal Necklace ( all via the Pretty Mommy Shop).

Well hello kitty! I know I am a little behind the curve on this one but how could I resist? These cat-shaped lipsticks from Paul & Joe Beauté are so damn cheeky and cute, I’d love to have one peeking out of my makeup bag.

It seems to be unanimous, from MiuMiu’s cat-printed collection, to Grace Coddington’s Catwalk Cats, to the United Bamboo Cat Calendar to The Catorialist and now Paul & Joe too, it’s clearly cool to be a cat these days.

I don’t know about you but I. Can’t. Wait. For. Fall.

I just want an excuse to be cozy. To curl up in a ball on the couch in our new apartment with a book and Mr. Marlow for an afternoon.

And, I know exactly what I want to wear for my cozy day: a Fleece Boarder sweatshirt by Japanese barnd V:room.

A friend recently purchased one of these beauties and I can’t stop thinking about the supersoft, super cozy Japanese cotton blend that begs to never be taken off.

It isn’t exactly inexpensive loungewear but, whoever said taking time for yourself is one of life’s best luxuries was definitely on to something…

V:room Boarder Sweatshirt can be purchased right here.

Also, LGTM is now on Twitter! Follow me right here, I promise to keep things interesting!

Sometimes you want something even when it has no practical value because it is just that cool.

I was trolling through the internet the other day when I stumbled upon the website of Rachel Gilbert and her excellent line of party dresses.

I lost my breath though when I saw the River Gloves.

Perforated leather embellished with sparkling beads, these are a dream come true for every girl who grew up watching Desperately Seeking Susan & copying Michael Jackson’s choreography in her bedroom.

Sttttteeeeeeeeelllllaaaaaaaa!

I’ve loved Stella McCartney ever since her beginnings at Chloé. She excels at making sexy, ladylike clothes that are meant to be worn and worn well.

Her F/W 2010 collection was gorgeous start to finish. Simple pieces in a neutral palette for the effortlessly beautiful modern woman (in our wildest dreams anyway).

What really blew me away were these shoes though. (Faux) patent leather, pointy toes, a dangerously low vamp and the kittenish heel.

I see these shoes when I close my eyes, my feet have been waiting their whole lives for them I am sure of it!

I always love a little black dress, especially one with personality and Brooklyn designer Dona Monroe definitely knows a thing or two about that.

Her Spring 10 collection of black minidresses is the downtown girl’s perfect summer secret weapon.

I particularly love this Sleeveless Jacket Dress, don’t you?

I can see myself walking through Nolita wearing these Karen Walker Sunglasses with a treat from the Van Leeuwen truck in hand. Summer, I’ve missed you!

Dona Monroe dresses can be bought where the cool girls go to shop: In God We Trust in NYC and Frances May in Portland.

I am not the first blogger to post about the incredible prints by artist and textile designer Shabd Simon Alexander and I most certainly will not be the last.

There is this incredible quality of Alexander’s prints–inspired by images from the Hubble Telescope–that is quite frankly, out of this world.

Alexander’s new line of tank tops are just in time for summer. The celestial bursts of color bold, playful and a bit mysterious. Quite possibly the coolest thing you can wear when it’s finally hot outside.

Remember when I was crazy for colored pants last week? And then before, when I told you about my love of high-waisted skinny jeans?

Well, it seems somebody out there heard me before I even said the words.

I am currently coveting this High Waist Slim Fit Jean from supercool Danish line Wood Wood.

These jeans have all the right proportions and to top it all off, they are the softest, gentlest shade of lilac I have ever seen. If this isn’t the perfect pair of pants then I don’t know what is!

Jeans are available at Gargyle in NYC.

Virginia Johnson is something of a cult favorite among textile designers. I can’t think of a single one I know who doesn’t own or covet one of her scarves.

It’s hard not to love her prints. They are inspired by nature and painted with watercolors for a fluid, organic quality that is just beautiful.

I don’t yet own one of her gorgeous scarves. I may have been waiting for the perfect one to come along and I think has. This bright magenta Shark Print Scarf has my name written all over it. I am in love!

Because our birthdays fall at either end of the month of February, Andy and I don’t do anything particularly extravagant for Valentines Day.

However, if the situation were different, I might be dropping some heavy hits to him right about now about the debut collection from jewelry designer Kristin Pasternak.

Fine jewelry is a bit of a hard sell for me because my taste is so particular. I look for pieces that do something new but with a bit of prettiness (it is jewelry after all) so as not to get tripped up by its own modernity.

These lovely diamond stacking rings from Pasternak do just that. I love the subtle ball-chain shape and the tiny diamonds that add a little bit of sparkle. It’s a traditional style updated with a pretty twist, don’t you think they would be so lovely in a set of three?

Diamond Stacking Ring and other styles are available for purchase in Pasternak’s online shop.
